Hotel collapses in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil -- A building housing a hotel and restaurant
collapsed in downtown Rio on Wednesday, and rescue workers dug through the
rubble with bolt cutters for anyone buried under the debris.
More than four hours after the collapse, no bodies or survivors had been
found, and three passers-by had been treated for minor injuries.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Defense Department said the chances for survival of
anyone who might be trapped underneath the rubble were remote and suspended
operations until today.
